The San Diego Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) will hold its annual diversity event Tuesday, June 21, from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at The Westgate Hotel. The speaker will be Jerrilyn Malana, who is currently a chief deputy for employment/special advisor at the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.
She will talk about elimination of bias in the legal profession. The interactive program will engage participants in a dialogue regarding diversity and inclusion. Key points will include: overview of the business case for diversity and its current status in the workplace; insight on implicit bias; and best practices to overcome such bias in the workplace.
Registration and cocktails will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m., followed by the program and then a cocktail reception starting at 6:45 p.m. A total of 1.25 hour of MCLE credit in elimination of bias and 1.25 hours of CLM in human resource management will be given.
